NEEDED TOOLS AND MATERIALS:

• A magnet (to get bits of broken sawblade).
• A kitchen strainer (to sift out filings).
• Pen and paper.
• Heavy plastic bags (to ship the scrap).

1. Separate the scrap by alloy and quality class. There are three quality classes:
• Class A: unsoldered, unheated, clean.
• Class B: Soldered/heated, free of adhesives, base metal findings, and stones.
• Class C: Cast jewelry, sprues, solders, filings, and jewelry with base metal findings.

When scrap is presented for sale to Indian Jewelers Supply Co. which has not been adequately quality-graded, the lower value will be applied. When our personnel find non-precious metal items in the scrap, the entire lot may be rejected.

2. Package and accurately label the scrap. Scrap not separated will have the lowest value applied.
3. Write out a letter of instruction with your scrap, including your name, address, phone number(s), and customer number.
4. Ship the parcel to this address:

Your scrap value will be credited according to the precious metals quotes of the day that the scrap was received at I.J.S. When scrap is received to pay for a shipment of precious metals in transit, that scrap will be credited according to the market of the outstandingshipment.
